Crusted Tuna Steak With Passion Fruit mango Granola

Crusted Tuna Steak

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup passion fruit mango granola
  • 3 (10-ounce) tuna steaks, cut 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil,
  • Cilantro (garnish)
  • Green onions (garnish)

Ginger Sauce

·         2 oz. soy sauce (low sodium)

·         ½ teaspoon ginger (fresh)

·         1 tablespoon honey

·         1 tablespoon sesame oil

·         2 tablespoon rice vinegar

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine smoked paprika, ground black pepper, kosher salt, granola Lightly brush the tuna with oil and sprinkle the sesame mixture all over it, pressing to help the crust adhere.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a nonstick skillet until the oil is almost smoking. Add the crusted tuna steaks and cook them over moderately high heat until they are slightly pink in the center, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer the crusted tuna steaks to plate and let rest for 5 minutes.
  3. In small bowl, combine soy sauce, ginger, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar and whisk together.
  4. Now, slice tuna steak into ¼ inch slices, drizzle sauce and garnish on top and enjoy.
